In the last blog, we talked about what Facebook Marketing is and why it’s worth learning. Today, we’re going one step ahead - and helping you actually start.

This blog is all about how to create a proper Facebook Business Page. Not your personal profile. Not a random page with no info. A real, clean, professional-looking business page that you can use for practice—or even to promote something for real.

Let’s get into it.

What is a Facebook Business Page?

Think of it as a digital storefront. Whether you’re selling something, offering a service, or just building your personal brand, a Facebook Business Page acts as your public profile for the world.

Unlike your personal account, this is where people:

• Find your business info

• Check out what you offer

• Read your posts, reviews and updates

• Contact you directly

Even if you’re not a business owner, having a business page lets you practice real digital marketing skills.

Why Create One?

Here are three real reasons why you should make a business page—even if you’re still learning:

It’s free – You don’t need to pay anything to create it.

You can build a portfolio – Show employers or clients that you’ve managed a real page.

• You learn by doing – No tutorial beats hands-on practice.

What You Need Before You Start

Not much, honestly. Just:

• A Facebook account (your personal one, to log in)

• A name for your page (it could be anything: a mock brand, a side hustle idea, or your own name)

• A short bio or description (even 2 lines will do)

• A logo or profile picture (you can use Canva or a simple photo for now)

Got that ready? Let’s go.

How to Create Your Facebook Business Page – Step by Step

Step 1: Log in and go to “Pages”

• Open Facebook on your browser or app.

• On the left-hand side (on desktop), click “Pages.”

• On mobile, tap the three horizontal lines and look for “Pages”.

Step 2: Click on “Create New Page”

You’ll see a big blue button that says “Create New Page” Tap it.

Step 3: Add Your Page Details

Here’s what you’ll need to enter:

Page Name – Choose something clear. For example: “Bake & Bite” or “Fitness With Neha.”

Category – Just type what your page is about. Facebook will suggest options like “Food Delivery,” “Education,” “Personal Blog,” etc.

Description – A short sentence about what the page is for. You can change this anytime.

Once done, click Create Page.

Step 4: Add Images

• Profile Picture – Your logo or a photo related to your brand. (Use Canva if you need help designing one.)

• Cover Photo – A banner that gives a feel of your business. Can be a product photo, a quote, or something simple.

This makes your page look professional from day one.

Step 5: Fill Out the Page Info

This is the part people often skip—but it matters.

Go to “Edit Page Info” and add:

• Contact number or email

• Website (if any) or Instagram handle

• Business hours (can be “Always open” if not applicable)

• Location (if you’re targeting local customers)

Step 6: Create Your First Post

Don’t overthink it. It could be:

• A “Hello, we’re live!” post

• A quote

• A photo of your product

• An intro to what your page is about

The goal is just to start. You can always improve later.

What Makes a Page Look Professional?

What Makes a Page Look Professional?

1. Use proper grammar and real images. People trust what looks real.

2. Have a consistent tone. Friendly, professional, or informative—stick to one.

3. Keep the page active. One post a week is enough to begin with.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Don’t use personal selfies or cropped photos as your logo.

• Don’t leave the “About” section empty.

• Don’t send people to your page before it has at least one or two posts.

Take a little time to set it up well—you’re building your own digital asset.

Practice Task for This Week

If you’re serious about learning Facebook Marketing, complete this task:

1. Create a Facebook Business Page (you can even name it something like “My Practice Brand”)

2. Add a basic logo and a short description

3. Post one update this week (anything simple)

You don’t need to promote it or share it with friends. This is for you—to learn and explore.

What’s Next?

Now that you’ve set up a Facebook Page, we’ll show you how to plan what to post on it.

Next week’s blog will be all about:

• What kind of content works best

• How to make a content calendar

• Simple post ideas you can try anytime
